Almost a Year Later, Still Waiting on Sirius-XM Merger
Sirius Satellite Radio Inc (SIRI) can't seem to stay out of the news these days. With plans to merge with its only major rival, XM Radio, in the works, the word "monopoly" is closely tied with any mention of the satellite radio giant.
Right now, the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission are still weighing in on this major merger which would combine the only two major players in the satellite radio game. While the DOJ and FCC are taking their time as they review this possible anti-trust merger, investors are betting it may be nearing regulatory approval. The stock has been climbing recently as more and more investors started giving SIRI a closer look.
