Citigroup Inc. is a diversified financial services company that operates both in the United States as well as internationally. The company offers a wide range of financial products and services through several divisions. The Global Consumer group offers traditional banking products and services as well as investment and insurance products for individuals. The division also offers lending services for real estate and personal loans along with credit and debit card processing. The Markets and Banking division offers investment banking services, securities trading as well as commercial lending products for a wide range of markets. Global wealth management includes subsidiaries such as Smith Barney and Citigroup Private Banking that offer brokerage, financial planning and wealth management for high net worth individuals and investment research services. Citigroup also has an Alternative Investment products division that offers unique investment avenues such as hedge funds, private equity investments and structured products. Citigroup has over $2 trillion in total assets and $720 billion in loans outstanding. Currently the company has approximately 8200 branches and offices worldwide.
