Valero Energy Corp. operates as a crude oil refining and retailing company. Its activities include refining operations, wholesale marketing, product supply and distribution, and transportation operations primarily in the Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent, West Coast, and northeast regions. The company produces a wide range of energy products including but not limited to: reformulated gasoline, conventional gasoline, low-sulfur diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, home heating oil and stove oil, petrochemicals, asphalt, crude mineral spirits, bunker oils and Propane-Octene. Its retailing business includes the sale of fuels and convenience store merchandise through its retail sites and home heating oil to residential customers in the United States and Canada. Valero Energy was founded in 1955 as Valero Refining and Marketing Company and changed its name to Valero Energy Corporation in 1997. The company is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.
