I don't try to time the market - I don't think the average investor, or most professional for that matter, can accurately determine how to time the market in able to make a consistent profit over the long run. In fact, I don't worry about when to buy or when to sell - in mechanical investing you invest for a set amount of time and "rebalance" when that time has elapsed....repeat. The strategies I use have been backtested and this does not imply future results but I believe it can increase the probabilities of that strategy working.

You just can't time the market.
