In this challenging economic environment, there are a lot of layoffs in all sorts of companies. It is understandable that the employers want to save money. But on the other side of the coin, I really don't see any loyalty/sympathy the employers show to their employees. More and more employers treat their employees just as a number. Every year, regardless it is a bad year or it is a good year, holiday season is also a layoff season. While some executives get their big bonus check, other working people get their pink slips.
