Biography

After many years of very mediocre returns by having the bulk of my investments in "the best-rated" mutual funds, I have been picking my own stocks more and more. I have done very well the last three years, averaging returns far above the market index averages.

Out of this I am formulating my own strategy balancing value with momentum, smaller with large caps, and high growth with tolerable risk.

Participating in this Strategy Lab Open is pushing me to clarify and articulate my investing methodologies into a more unified and verifiable system. I'm looking forward with an eye to historical perspective in the rear view mirror. History tends to repeat itself.

I'd like to understand the roots of both my successes and failures and attain that rare mastery that's the hallmark of the very great investors, learning from the best while forging my own path.

I consider the Strategy Lab Open an excellent learning experience which I am applying in my real world portfolio, to "keep it real"! Let the games begin...

Strategy

My strategy is to play the odds while minimizing risk in an uncertain and volatile market, while maintaining a balance between and fusing value and momentum investing, stockpicking, sector and timing acumen.
