Todays the day to get this party going. It will be interesting to see the different styles of investing and the different strategies used.
Investing these days has to be more challenging than prior times. Before you could buy Ford,Gm or about any major company and pretty much just check the Sunday paper and see how your doing or maybe get a dividend check once in a while. Today with the volatility we have,I'm afraid to go to the bathroom. With my actual portfolio I keep an eye on it all day(I'm retired) because a good profit can be gone in a blink of an eye.
This contest will fall to someone who does their homework and they will also need a lot of luck.I saw a little stock today I have watched for a while and they reported some what higher top and bottom line and the company was just crushed. It lost some where around 30% of its value in 30 minutes.
This is my first bit of advice I can give my fellow contestants. Don't hold a stock when they are ready to announce earnings. There will be a lot more disappointments than sucesses in this environment. So,develop your style and stick with it,win or lose!
